This message is related to your program that you run on one of the missionary channels entitled “Clearly”, in which you raised topics and after following some of them, I found that you attack the Qur’an, Islam, Muhammad and Muslims, provoking controversy and wonder to me from the topics you raise in your controversy and your views that provoke some unconstructive criticism, to the point that I concluded that in your argument and criticism you change some of the obvious facts in the Muslim faith. One of your controversial theses in this program that you raised is your following question:
“Why did the Qur’an use the term Christians on the followers of Christ (peace be upon him) instead of the word Christians?”
You have raised in this question many issues that may be absent from the minds of many intellectuals in both the Christian and Islamic faiths because this topic needs several aspects of scientific research for linguistic terminology and the fact that they are used in the field of faith or religion. It needs to be reasoned in the search for how linguistic terms are used in the ancient Arab societies of the Arabian Peninsula. This research also needs specialists in linguistics and belief sciences in order to reveal the truth to the reader or listener.
When I went on and said that the Qur’an misused the term “Christians” on the followers of Christ, it should have used the word “Christians” instead. She claimed that the word Christians dates back to the city of Nazareth located in the Galilee above occupied Palestine, and the Messiah, peace be upon him, was called the term “Christ of Nazareth or Jesus of Nazareth” and touched on some inferences and others to prove your point of view in this research.
In summary, I want to say in this research is which of the two terms is more accurate, general and correct to use so that there is no ambiguity or misunderstanding in their use! Let’s look into this subject and see if the Qur’an made a linguistic and moral mistake in using the word Christians on the followers of Sayyid Al-Masih (peace be upon him)?
Of course, I do not agree with you in what you say and try to convince your audience of it: argument is argument and evidence is evidence. These are my implications for the Qur’anic use of this term, and the linguistic connotations from the Lisan Al Arab dictionary, as well as the use of the terminology that was recognized and prevalent in tribal societies in the Arabian Peninsula and which I understood and used in its language and between them, before the revelation of the Qur’an and the mission of Muhammad, peace be upon him.
The word Christians is Arabic origin and its root is the verb (victory), which is a past tense, and there are many other sources of this verb, including: (victory, or victory, supporters, Christians, victory, supporter, and Nasser). The Quranic term: “Yes Mawla and Yes Supporter” which was used in Surat Al-Anfal verse 40 “And if you take over, know that Allah is your master, yes Mawla and yes Nasir.” In Surah al-Hajj, verse 15, “Whoever thinks that Allah will not help him in this world and the hereafter, let him stretch out to heaven and then cut off, let him see whether they will go as if he does not anger him.” The Qur’an used the word “may God grant him victory” and the distraction in the verb “may God grant him victory” accustomed to our master Muhammad, peace be upon him, and the actor is God.
In Surat Al-Qasas, verse 18, “He became in the city afraid and waiting, and if the one who helped him yesterday cried out to him, Moses said to him, “You are a clear linguist” “The meaning of the act of Istnasrah: that is, asking for help and protection. And Istnassar: that is, the request for victory. And advocacy: that is, cooperation over victory. They triumphed: that is, they triumphed over one another. The news prevailed: that is, they believed each other. Nouaceur: means streams of water to the valleys. Nouaceur: also means water streams and singular “Nazareth”. And the rain gave victory to the earth: that is, he watered it and sprang it. And also, in support of the country: if it rains. And Al-Mustansir: means the liquid. Christianization: means entering into Christianity. His victory: that is, making him a Christian.
When Jesus (peace be upon him) addressed his disciples as mentioned in the Qur’an, he did not say to them, “Where are my Christians to God?” It may seem silly and inappropriate, but he addressed them and asked them: Who are my supporters to God? Then the Qur’an addressed the followers of Muhammad, peace be upon him, the believers who believed in his message to be supporters of God, as the verse speaks in Surat Al-Saff No. 14: “O you who believe, be the supporters of God, as Jesus son of Mary said to the disciples of my supporters to God, the disciples said, we are the supporters of God, so a group of the children of Israel believed and a sect disbelieved, so we supported those who believed in their enemy, and they became visible.”
Arabs before Islam were not accustomed to using the word (Christian or Christian) because it did not suit their taste and accurate understanding of its linguistic meaning, especially when the source is derived from its verb (survey), did not like their linguistic taste and genius in the use of linguistic vocabulary as a Christian or Christians suitable for the followers of Jesus Christ peace be upon him. As for the Qur’an, it was used according to what the tribes of the Arabian Peninsula used before Islam when they used the term (Christians). The Qur’an was revealed in the language of the Arab tribes in the island and used the same terminology in order to bring them closer to the verbal meaning and moral meaning that they knew and used to use. (Lisan al-Arab, vol. II, pp. 293-298.
The Arabs in the Arabian Peninsula and before Islam used to call the word “Christian” to the followers of Christ Jesus’ son of Mary, peace be upon them, so the word Christian or Christian was the word Istokah between them, not Christian or Christian because they realized the difference in meaning between the two terms. The Arabs did not say: I was anointed by those who entered the doctrine of Christianity, but they said: I became Christianized, that is, I became a follower of Christ, even if there is no connection between the two words or terms in the verbal (Christian or Christian). They understood that the word Christians used to the followers of Mr. Christ, but the word Christians did not mean anything to them, perhaps something that did not fit with their concept of the word and its meaning in their language.
It is not permissible to belong in the doctrinal thought of the bearer of the thought in his personal name, but rather to belong to the message or concept that he carried and preached. The doctrine that Christ carried and brought was never Christianity, but came with the message of monotheism that Moses carried and peace be upon them before him. Moses did not say or call the thought and doctrine he came with (in Judaism). Nor did Christ declare and tell his followers that your faith and religion that I except for you is (Christianity or Christianity). I challenge anyone to give us proof of what I am saying! Also, Muhammad, peace be upon him, did not tell his followers that your faith and religion is (Muhammadiyah). Rather, he said and called for the doctrine of monotheism and the one God!
As for the word: Christian or Christians, its root is the verb: (anointed or anointed) and the source of it has several faces: Christ or Christ, anointed, anointed and other derivations of this verb. It is said in the supplication of the Arabs, “May Allah wipe away from you what is in you”, that is: I will take away from you affliction and harm. And Christ in Arabic means: friend. It says in Surah “P.A. 33: “They replied to me, and he wiped the market and the necks” and in Surat Al-Ma’idah No. 6: “O you who believe, if you rise to pray, wash your faces and hands to the companions, and wipe with your heads and feet to the heels” and wipe him with the sword: that is, hit his neck. And the scanner: fighting. And wiping: the one who blames you to say while he cheats you. And wiping and crocodile: the malicious genie, and the liar who does not believe its trace.
The Jews cursed anyone who blasphemed or deceived God and legislated for that the death penalty! The Qur’an did not legitimize the stoning or execution of those who believed in Christ, but considered them to be people of conscience and covenant. You changed the doctrine of monotheism that the Jews believed in before, and then the Muslims after you when you invented the doctrine of the Trinity, which is in fact the doctrine of blasphemy and deception against the Lord of Christ and the Messiah Himself, and you made him a god, and he is not so, and he did not declare what you put on him.
In the Gospel of Matthew, chapter seven, verse 21, Jesus says, “Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” Christ then goes on to make the question of lordship very clear in the same chapter of Matthew, verse 22, “Many will say to me that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name, cast out demons in your name, and in your name have we made many powers”.23: Then I will cry out to them, I have never known you. Depart from me, you who do unrighteousness.”
The question that must be asked in this question is:
To whom is Christ referring in his rebuke speech on the Day of Resurrection? Then who will drive those around him out that day, you or us? We never shared him with his Creator and never said that he was a god or the son of a god! As for the Jews, they have nothing to do with this, they have completely denied our Messiah and yours! But you are the ones who claim to be his followers and lovers. Is it the harsh rebuke speech that refers to his wrath and anger against those who equaled him and thanked him in the Lord: that is, with God, his Creator and the Creator of all things!
It was said in the past and you still say about Him that He is the Lord: God. Is his rebuke, wrath and anger for Muslims or for you?
The second question: you say that Christ is God, so what did you base it on, and what is your proof?
If the Messiah is God: why did He delay throughout these centuries and the many long and long eons, after He sent His messengers and prophets to the previous nations, and after the millions and even billions of His creation of the sons of Adam when He left them to believe in those apostles and prophets and in oneness, and then He decided to enter into the womb of a female and say to you and me and to mankind, “This is God, Christ?”
Is it possible for this Creator, the All-Knowing, the Wise, and the Almighty, to do this kind of act? Or is it really the opposite of these qualities: unknowing, unwise and mighty! Then he waits for this period of time without caring and caring for what happened from him by sending his messengers and prophets to guide mankind to him so that he would be the reason for misleading them?
Why didn’t he say to Moses when he addressed him, “I am the Christ? Instead of who am I, “I am”? Did he want to conceal from humanity the truth of his theology and humanity, as claimed by the proponents of this faith, in order to mislead his servants, laugh at them and underestimate their minds? Then why did he withhold and reserve his truth even from all his apostles and prophets, who numbered in the thousands to the sons of Adam, if his truth and union were in the Trinity?
Why did he tell Adam and teach him that he was one individual who persevered and carried Adam’s descendants after him the message of oneness preached by the early ones through his messengers and prophets? When he told Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Jesus, and then Muhammad that he was the one God! And he didn’t tell them that he was the third of three and not one? Did he want to deceive his creation and question his being and his essence?
Were the Hebrews the people of Abraham, and the Israelites the people of Jacob, Isaac, David, Solomon, and Moses wrong in their belief in the oneness and lordship of the Creator and were they disbelieving and far from the reality and reality of the one God? Or are those who invented the doctrine of the Trinity and the divinity of Jesus who perverted, deviated, and led astray many of God’s sons and servants?
Before the doctrine of the Trinity, and before Islam, Moses’ message to the descendants of the Hebrews, the descendants of the Israelites and to those who came from the people of Moses, was a message of oneness and worship of one God, and a creator who is free from any event, proved by the Ten Commandments that were revealed to Moses!
Then came the message of Islam proving what the children of Israel and the Jews were like before the Messiah in terms of monotheism and non-polytheism. Rather, it repudiated and disowned any blasphemy and involvement of God in His truth and essence. The doctrine of the Trinity was considered an involvement and departure from the reality of the Lord, Creator and Creator of the universe!
Is it possible for the Lord of this universe, who claims to be the creator and creator of all the miracles and fixed scales for his care and preservation, to descend and enter into the womb of a young girl who has reached the dream in order to live in her womb because of its impurity, blood and spittle, and then go out to say what you claim and slander people, that he (God) was born, or that the child is the Son of God, or that he is God, and he is also the Holy Spirit?
Is it reasonable for the one who healed the breath and split the grain and created all that you see in this nature and this universe of dazzling signs, miracles and miraculous truths that are seen with the eye and live their stages and human parts from the sons of Adam, and then he will be with this weakness, humiliation and helplessness in order to enter into a narrow strait and then come out of it as a human being and be the Lord and the great God? Then he is equal to his creation in that he consists of sperm and chewing, then a leech, then bone, flesh, veins and cells in the womb of Mary (peace be upon her), so he is born as each of us was born and says about himself that he is the Lord, creator and creator of the universe?
Is it conceivable for this Creator to put him in the wrong place and blaspheme him and deceive him? Is it possible for the Creator to descend from above and prove to the people whom He created from nothing and from the particles of dust and tell them that he is like them a man who eats and drinks when he is hungry and thirsty! Then it comes out! He sleeps and rests when he gets tired! Then he regrets, grieves and doubts himself! Then he suffers and weeps and contradicts the reality of being as God, Lord, creator of all things and being the same thing as a creature?
How can he accept himself to curse, humiliate, humiliate and spit on him, and then beat, crucify and torture until he proves to us stupid human beings that he is a great God and an absolute creator in his creation and creativity! Why all this deception, deception and lying to humanity, when it is supposed to be the one that is free from every event? Was it not He who created from something or from nothingness and from nothing, a creature who hears, thinks, innovates, and produces without tiring or trouble when he says whatever he wants, be it?
Why does he want to mislead us and fascinate us and then claim to be a great and capable Creator, wise and knowledgeable of everything, and then choose the path of idiots and the path of idiots to prove to us that he is a god by entering and coming out of a place similar to the one in which we were created and like him all his diverse and different creatures of humans and animals came out, and tells us that he is made of flesh, blood, bones and tissues, and he has our feelings, feelings and needs, and contradicts his majesty and power when he decided, according to the concept of those who went astray and went astray, that he is “God and man at the same time”?
It would have been better and better for him from the beginning of creation and creation to reveal his essence and the truth of himself and tell us that he is the third of three, or God in three people: (in humanity, divinity and a holy spirit), unity in one God who is not separated or divided! It is not possible to separate them or separate them from each other and at the same time the three are one God united in His majesty and in His greatness?
How can a theology enter with humanity and then mix? Is the spirit of the divinity different from the Holy Spirit? Then does each Trinity have different spirits? Do they have the same spirit to share? The question is
Who mixed them up and where? And how? And who resurrected the Spirit into the divinity and entered humanity? And where did it come from? And how did it come? And who brought it and wanted it as well? Did this Creator, Creator, All-Knowing, and Wise, squeeze his being, become the size of a pinhead, and then enter into the little body of the Virgin?
You wanted to tell us and teach us that what the first of mankind were, through their messengers and prophets, was that they were wrong when they believed in the one God who is free from any event. And you claimed to be right when you made the one God three in one! And you want to distort our minds and even our consciences in order to say, pray and blaspheme the Lord of the universe and its creator as you claim to be a “creature” God Almighty from what you describe!
Where are your bright minds, your decomposed, your thoughtful thoughts about the powers of God, the greatness of God and the majesty of God! Especially when man from us and you look at himself and sees that he carries a researcher’s and analyzer mind and is sure that he is smaller than the tip of a pin compared to the capacity of this universe, and that he created and did not create himself! And that he is vulnerable to any disease or affliction! At the same time, he is too low and humiliating to accuse, deceive, lie and blaspheme the One who created Him from nothing, to be like Him or to be like Him, or to be equal or equal to Him in anything?
The literal mind is thinking and contemplative in its analysis and objectivity when it looks at the creatures around it, it cannot buy these goods and say that God is unable or unable to save humanity that He created with His knowledge and ability, and to erase and pardon its sins and sins without trouble, fatigue or abortion? And not as you claim only by killing or crucifying his innocent and infallible son! He then fails to do so, changes his strategy, and develops a new theory for humanity to show us that the only way to believe is to make a person like Christ (peace be upon him) a scapegoat for his helplessness and weakness. And that this is the only way to get humanity out of its sins, sins and sins! Is this really God in your eyes as you see His greatness, hear with your ears and think with your minds that analyze, create, invent and do not reach the truth of this Creator and Creator?
Everything in this universe glorifies Him, venerates Him, praises Him, and believes that He is a God and the Lord of a wise, almighty and merciful world except you! You want to mislead yourselves and other human beings who followed you on this path and believed untrue and unreality and became the Sunnah a deception and falsification of the truth, but God is the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of everything!
How did your minds reach this path and you followed falsehood and said to God what is not in Him or in Him! We can only pray to this one God, the One and the Steadfast One, to enlighten your eyes and insights, open the shutters of your minds, and guide you to the path of wisdom and righteousness, to the path of wisdom and to follow the truth!
Finally, I want to say that there is a god who is tested and tested by a creature like Satan and you say that he is a god! A god who does not know when the fig tree will bear fruit and curses it because it did not feed him when he finished testing Satan when he became hungry! God says to those who followed him and believed in him that he will stay in the belly of the earth for three days and three nights and forgot to say that he will be dead when he struck them like Yunus when the whale met him three days and three nights, but Jonah in the belly of the whale was alive and not dead! How can this God, who is the Almighty who controls the affairs of His creation and His creatures, be forgotten, then crucified after torture and humiliation and cast out the Spirit on the cross, addressing those who created Him in Aramaic, as it says in Matthew chapter 27:46 when he said, “My God… My God… Why did you abandon me? “
The last question I want to ask is the use of logic and objective analysis: which is closer to balanced reason and to abstract logic: one God or a multiple and dispersed machine? Is it possible that the one god is divided into three gods or more, and is this logic and wisdom that can be accepted by a balanced mind and an analyzed thought?
Before you criticize others in their faith and try to provoke and criticize them in their religious concepts and their correct belief, it would have been better to look and examine the concepts of your faith, which are contrary to the religion of the instinct and the religion of all the prophets and messengers of God, and even the concept of logic when you talk about the Creator and Creator of the universe.
Do not be like those described by Christ (peace be upon him) in Luke 6:41, “Why do you look at the saps in your brother’s eye, but the wood that is in your eye do not realize it” and in Matthew 7:5, “O hypocrite, take out the wood from your eye, and then you will see well that you will bring out the wood from your brother’s eye” and Muhammad (peace be upon him) said in the same context: “One of you will see the saps in the eye of my brother and forget the snort in his eye.”

والمسيح: تعني المنديل الخشن. والمسيح: تعني الذراع. والمسيح والمسيحية: القطعه من الفضه والدرهم ألأمْلَسْ، ويقال: إمْتَسَحْتُ السيف: أي إستَللْتُه من غِمْدِه. والمسيح: تعني الْعَرَقْ كما قال الشاعر الجاهلي لبيد العامري: ” علا المِسْكُ والديباجُ فوق نُحورِهِمْ – فَراشُ المَسيحِ كالمجان المُنَقّبِ” او المُخَبَّبِ. والازهري ذكر: ان كلمة المَسيحُ في لغه العرب تعني: ألأعور لان عينه ممسوحة وبها سُميَ المسيح ألدجّال. وكلمة المسيح: تعني الْعَرَقْ، كما هو في بيت شعر المتنبي – ابو الطيب: “يا ريَّها وقد بدا مسيحي وابْتَّلَ ثَوْبايَ مِنَ النَضيحِ”. والأمْسَحْ: الذئب ألأزَلُّ. والأمْسّحْ: أعور العين، وكذلك تعني الكذّاب. (لسان ألعرب المجلد الخامس صفحة: 210-212).
وكما ترى في البحث اللغوي والمعنوي الفرق بين ألإصطلاحين وأيهما أصح أن يستعمل وأيهما لا يَضَعُ القارئ في حيرة المعنى وغموض الفهم!
أظن أنني أوضحت، وأشرْتُ للقارئ ما يكفي عن هذين ألإصطلاحين: (نصارى ام مسيحيين) من خلال المدلول اللغوي والمعنوي لهما، وأرجو أن يزيل بعض الشك والجهل في مفهوم ألإستعمال الذي تعوَّد على إستعماله كثير من اتباع المسيح. فكلمة واصطلاح “نصارى، او النصارى” لا يمكن ان تضع من اتباع المسيح وتقلل من شأنهم. بل كلمة مسيحي او مسيحيين هي التي قد تفعل هذا لأن العرب في الجزيرة عرفوا الفرق بين الاصطلاحين، فلم يُطْلِقوا على أتباع المسيح بالمسيحيين، بل أطلقوا عليهم كلمة نصارى وكذلك فعل القران.
أنتم استعملتم كلمة(يسوع) وهذه كلمة أرامية أُدْخِلتْ إلى أللغة ألعبرية وتُنْطَقْ “يَشوعْ” وهو اسم يشير إلى كلمتين “يهو شوع” والمعنى لهذا الإسم هو “ألله يُخلِّصْ” وكان يشوع إبن نون يحمل هذا ألإسم وهو من أسباط بني إسرائيل والذي خلف موسى بعد موته عليه ألسلام. فلماذا لم تستعملوا اسم ألمسيح ألعبري (يشوع) وترجمتموه أو حولتموه إلى “يسوع”؟
أطلق المستشرقون الغربيون في القرون الماضية ألمسلمين اصطلاح (المُحَمَّديون) نسبة الى محمد وتيمنناً بالمسيحيين نسبة الى المسيح عليهما السلام، وهي طريقة اصطلاح يُنْتَسَبُ فيها اسم الشخص إن كان نبيا او رسولا او مصلحا ويحمل فكراً او عقيده. فنسبوا المسلمين الى محمد والمسيحيين الى المسيح وفي حقيقة الامر ان كل رسل الله وانبيائه كانوا حمله لرسالة الوحدانية التي ارتضاها الحق للبشريه وهو دين التوحيد وليس دين الإشراك وتعدد الأله. فَرُسُلُ الله وانبيائه كانوا الواسطه بينه وبين مخلوقاته التي أعطاها حرية اختيار طريق الخير او طريق الشر، طريق الكفر او طريق الايمان، طريق الحق او طريق الباطل.
أما كلمة (كرايست أو كريستو) فهي كلمة يونانية مترجمة من كلمة المسيح أو ألمشيخ وهذا لا يتناسب مع اللفظة ألاصلية للإسم. والغريب انه في جميع قواعد اللغات والمتفق عليها أنه لا يجوز ترجمة أسماء ألعلم، أو حتى الأسماء بالكلية بل تُكْتَبُ كما تُلْفَظْ وكما َوَرَدَتْ في النصوص التي يُرادُ ترجمتها من لغة الى اخرى.
السؤال الذي لم يخطر على بالك ولم تتطرحه لمتابعيك وبدل كلمة نصارى أومسيحيين هو:
لماذا ترجم علماء المسيحية كلمة المسيح/ المشيخ بالعبرانية الى كرايست بالانجليزية او كريستو باليونانية او اللاتينية؟ ثم لماذا لا تتطرح اسئلتك عن السبب او العذر الذي خالفوا فيه قوانين ترجمة ألاسماء في اللغات وعند ترجمة النصوص من لغة الى اخرى؟ هل من الصواب ترجمة أسماء الْعَلَمْ اوأسماءُ الأماكن بالمطلق من لغة إلى أخرى!
أريد أن أنتهز الفرصة وأُضيئَ على بعض ألمسائل التي رأيْتُ فيها فائدة للحوار وللنقاش لكي أُوَضِّحْ بعضاً من أمورعقيدة التوحيد التي نؤمن بها كمسلمين حين نستسلم لوحدانية الخالق. وأنتم كنصارى أو كما تحب أنْ يُطْلَقَ عليكم كمسيحيين حين ابتدعتم عقيدة اختلفت عن عقيدة اليهود التي نادتْ بالتوحيد والتي هي نفسها عند المسلمين! ثم شَكّكْتُمْ في كُنْهِ ألخالقِ وصِفاتِهِ وحُدودِ قُدُراتِه وعِلّمِه: وهل هو حقاً أَعْجَزُ مما نتصور او كما يُصَوِّرُه البعض من أبناء ادم!
